About the Course

This is a one-day workshop aimed at equipping doctors with the necessary knowledge and skills to perform transnasal esophagoscopy (TNE) confi dently in the clinical offi ce setting. There are lectures on the basics as well as practical aspects of TNE. Hands-on practice on live patients is available to familiarise participants with the procedure.

 
Objectives
Understand the normal endoscopic anatomy of the upper aerodigestive tract
Be able to identify common esophageal pathology
Understand the relationship between GERD and upper aerodigestive tract pathology
Know when TNE is indicated for upper aerodigestive tract symptoms
Be familiar with therapeutic applications of TNE
Know about the equipment and preparations needed to perform TNE
Understand the potential pitfalls of TNE
Be familiar with handling TNE instruments in live subjects

Hands-on Practice
Each participant has the opportunity to perform TNE on live subjects in a supervised setting to gain hands-on familiarity with the procedure.
