| 31 Dec 2005 Seventy Overseas Doctors Take up SGH Fellowships/Training Attachments in 2005
The year 2005 saw the arrival of 70 overseas medical specialists to SGH for postgraduate medical training.
These overseas doctors, hailing from Bahrain, Bangladesh, China, India, Macau, Outer Mongolia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Taiwan, took up Fellowships or Training Attachments in specialties including Emergency Medicine, Anaesthesia & Surgical Intensive Care, Diagnostic Radiology, Orthopaedic Surgery, Renal Medicine and Urology. Their training ranged from under six months to six months in duration.
Since their inception in 1994, the SGH fellowship and training attachment programmes have provided close to 450 overseas doctors from Asia and beyond with opportunities to learn new skills and enhance their knowledge in SGH. These programmes are administered by SGH-PGMI.
