28 Oct 2006 - 31 Oct 2006 Regional Conference on Cost-effective Healthcare 2006 Due to the enthusiastic reception of the first forum in 2004, PGMI decided to bring back the Regional Conference on Cost-effective Healthcare. While the basic format of the previous event was retained, the organising committee decided that this year, the theme would be Healthcare Systems. Pre-conference workshops were held on 28­–29 October while the conference itself ran from 30–31 October. The Guest of Honour was Mr Heng Chee How, Minister of State from the Ministry of Health, Singapore. His opening address was followed by a keynote lecture from Dr David Evans from the World Health Organization (WHO). Dr Hong Li from the United States delivered a plenary lecture on the second day of the conference.
